Tangy, creamy ranch dressing that’s as healthful as it is delicious—this versatile sauce is a dream come true. If you don’t have a high-speed blender, like Vitamix brand, be sure to soak the cashews in cold water for at least 2 hours before making this dressing.

From mrsplantintexas.com

Ingredients

  • ½ cup raw cashews
  • ¼ cup oil-free salsa
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • Hot pepper sauce, such as Cholula, to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a high-speed blender combine the first eight ingredients (through salt) and ¼ cup water. Cover and blend until smooth. If desired, season with hot sauce. Chill before serving.

There was not enough volume to cover the blades of my vitamix. Had to ad lib.
Needed a lot more seasoning. I’ll let it rest overnight and taste it again in the morning. I soaked the cashews 2 hours in hot water.

I have a peanut and tree nut allergy. What is best to replace the cashews with? Also, does anyone have input with replacing mustard in a lot of the recipes that are on this site? I have an allergy to that as well.

If you can have seeds, sunflowerseeds are often a good replacement.

I tried the exact recipe (no mods) but found it lacking in flavor. I added the hot sauce and that helped. I would recommend adding 1/4 tsp cumin and chili powder. That seemed to kick it up a notch

This is honestly amazing. I eat salad because I know I should but with THIS dressing, the salad is my favourite part of the meal.

Very good recipe, I made it as written and it was good. I added dried minced onion and swapped out the water for almond milk and it turned out great

This was shockingly good! It has a creamy texture and a Midwestern “taco dip” taste. Color me pleased.
